An acknowledgment notarial certificate is used to verify the identity of a signer and their willingness to execute important legal documents. For an acknowledgment, the signer must appear in person at the time of notarization to be positively identified and to declare ("acknowledge") that the signature on the document is their own, that it was willingly made, and that the provisions in the document are intended to take effect exactly as written.
A copy certification is performed to confirm that a reproduction of an original document is true, exact, and complete. In the state of Nevada, the notary will review the document and make a copy. We are not authorized to make copies of vital records including divorce, marriage, birth certificates, or death certificates. They must be obtained from your county records office.
A jurat is a process used to authenticate important evidentiary documents in the legal system. It is commonly performed on documents like affidavits, depositions, and interrogatories. The signer must appear in front of the notary, sign the document, and take an oath or affirmation affirming the truthfulness of the statements. False statements under oath can lead to perjury charges.
Swearing-In Ceremony: Administer an oath or affirmation of office.
